This week Dr. Brett welcomes Father Cristino Bouvette from the Diocese of Calgary for a conversation about truth and reconciliation, and the intersection of personal experiences with public expectations. Father Cristino shares his unique journey as an Indigenous Catholic priest and the complex blend of heritage that shapes his perspective. Join them as they explore the challenges and insights that come with navigating preconceived notions, the residential school legacy, and the power of building bridges between communities. Discover the richness of reconciliation and the potential to transcend labels in the pursuit of genuine understanding.

Show Snippet: "She (my kokum) was the Executive Director of the Friendship Centre in Rocky Mountain House, nearby where our farm was. And she spent most of her adult life, after raising children, working on building stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in one small community in rural Alberta and to me, that's reconciliation. And that's what I grew up with."
